How the Patterns Evolve.

Where Iteration Happens

The shapes that make up our core men’s collection have been with us for years.

Living with a silhouette for that long changes how you see it. Details that once felt settled begin to reveal small opportunities for improvement.

Some of that comes from within the factory, but much of it comes from the people who wear them. Over the years we’ve heard from customers who have lived in their Hiut jeans for seasons at a time. Through emails, conversations and visits to the factory, small pieces of feedback begin to appear.

Those observations often point to the same small details. None of these changes are dramatic. Often they’re measured in millimetres.

But over time, those small adjustments begin to shape how a pair of jeans feels in everyday wear.

A Collaborative Process

Pattern cutting sits somewhere between precision and instinct.

Experience matters here, but so does conversation. Our team works closely across pattern cutting, product and the factory floor, testing ideas and revisiting details together.

Patterns are adjusted, samples are cut, they’re sewn in the factory and worn again.

Slowly, the silhouettes improve.

Keeping It Close

Having our own factory makes this possible.

Pattern changes can be tested quickly. Samples can be sewn within hours rather than weeks. Conversations happen across the same floor.

That closeness allows us to keep refining the silhouettes without losing what made them work in the first place.

Very keen to see the new refinements

Do you think the high raise tapered leg would allow extra movement when compared with the v-fit cut? I’m keen to find jeans with a smarter silhouette that allows me to more well.

I can’t wait for April so I get a new pair of jeans. Without a doubt my Hiuts are my favourites.

“Our new line for men updates classic silhouettes”

Does “updates” mean “replaces” or “compliments”? If the former, please let us know which cuts are going before it’s too late. Failing that, as before, some details would help your existing customers to make immediate decisions!. Thanks.

Andy

I’d love the new relaxed tapered fit to be a V-Fit from the top block to just above the knee and but with a more aggressive taper from the knee down. So V-Fit top half and SlimR bottom.
If that was the case I’d be ordering pairs in every fabric as it’s the perfect blend of comfort and smart-casual silhouette .

Yours have been my go to jean for some years. I notice this will make more high rise patterns available. So keen to see how they work out.

This is great news. Coming from someone who loves his Hiut jeans but knowing the fitment is not the greatest for me. I wear the Hack@ and they are great everywhere apart from the hips. Size 30/32 which is perfect but I’ve had the pockets re sewn (by Hiut) a few times now as getting my hands into them is tight.
Have also tried the other fits apart from the V so far.
I’m in the market for a new pair so will wait till April now. Thank you

Phil

Have been a Hiut fan for years. Would like to see a slim fit but with room up top for a cyclist’s thighs and movement.

I love your Works jean, fit is great and the selvedge denim wears well. If the new jean “Jerald?” (terrible naming, sorry) changes that fit, can we still order Works under the custom option?
