We’re always saying we need to do more to meet and support our community but have never got around to making something happen.
After all, without you, there is no us.
If we’re being honest, we’ve been guilty of overthinking it: Where should it be, London? Cardigan? What about food and drink? Hiring a venue? All these things come together to make it too easy to get busy doing something else.
It took the lockdown to make us realise the power of the the KISS* principle.
Because we couldn't book a venue, or arrange food and drink or music, we just announced we were having a meet up on Zoom and everyone was welcome.
These 'StudioSocials' had no format, no slides and no presentations.
It was a series of relaxed conversations with some interesting, like-minded people; sharing stories and experiences.
Everyone loved them.
We're going to do more.
Big thanks to everyone who joined a StudioSocial. With special thanks to Jim Sutherland, Michael C Place, Sarah Boris, Tutes, Dan Rubin and Jamie Elull for their time and open, honest and inspiring conversations.
