The clock ticks for us all
This is Basil the cockerel.
We called him Basil because he walked like Basil from Fawlty Towers.
In fact, he didn’t walk but marched.
He was a character.
He was part of the furniture around here.
A gentleman who would only eat after the hens had eaten.
He would always put himself between danger and his pals the hens.
Unfortunately, last week the danger came in the form of a hungry fox.
Nature can be both beautiful and ugly.
And we have to accept both.
And the fox took him. (Like the fox did with our ducks the week before).
The clock ticks for us all.
