If we want to make a product that lasts, we have to pay attention to the weak link of a jean. And through design, stronger materials and craftsmanship, we have to make the weak link a strong one. The pockets are often that weak link. A favourite pair of jeans is a result of years of investment by you. The time is even more important than the money invested in them. So we have that in mind when we are designing our pockets. We understand the importance of your favourite jean. This is some plain selvedge we have been looking at for the pockets.
Today we got all the design pack and specs from Helen - The designer. It's the blueprint for the jeans that we are going to make. Things always look good on paper, but the only way to really tell is to prototype. And keep prototyping until everyone is happy. So the next steps is to pick the denim that we want, and make some jeans. It's always good to be ordering some denim. (Lots of debate on pockets - they tend to be the weak link of most jeans)
Today we crossed the start line. We put up stage 1 of the website. Jon has been coding. Simon has been designing. And I have been writing. Over the next month or two, we'll be busy bringing it to life. This will become like a diary of a start-up. So day 1, we crossed the start line.
