Getting To Know: The Astrid

The new women’s line is now out in the world, after a year of pattern work, wear testing, and refinement. Jeans are starting to land with customers in the UK, across Europe, and further afield, and there’s something special in knowing these jeans are no longer just ours and they’re being lived in.
The Mari and the Edna have found their place quickly, immediate favourites.
I wanted to take a moment to talk about a quieter one, my personal favourite: The Astrid.
The Astrid

The Shape
Mid rise with a subtle barrel.
Not exaggerated or overworked, just enough shape through the leg to give it something different. That was always our intention with this jean. A jean that doesn’t feel like a statement piece, but becomes one the more you wear it. As Susan put it simply:
“It’s a very wearable barrel leg.”

Designed in real life
We didn’t design the Astrid to sit still. It’s been on trains, planes, and long days walking.
Worn at desks, on bikes, out in the evening.
Hana wore hers across three countries:
“It makes deciding what to wear in the morning very easy.”
Shiv noticed the same shift:
“They’ve proven to be comfortable… sitting, walking, even climbing over stiles.”
And that’s been the consistent thread. They’ve become the pair people keep reaching for.
Worn day after day, not because they have to be, but because they’re the easiest option in the wardrobe.
As Hana put it:
“I’m not exaggerating when I say I’ve worn them almost every day since they arrived.”
This is where the shape really comes into its own, over time and worn in.

The Balance
Barrel jeans can easily go too far, becoming overly sculpted or too stylised to wear with ease. The Astrid was designed to sit somewhere in the middle, holding just enough shape to achieve the barrel fit.
There is volume through the hip, a softness through the leg, and a gentle taper that brings everything back in, but what really defines the silhouette is the length. Each pair has been finished deliberately to sit exactly where it should, allowing the barrel shape to fall naturally through the leg.
Worn as intended, the line stays clean and the shape holds its structure, creating a silhouette that feels considered, balanced, and easy to wear day to day.
The Astrid
The pair you reach for without overthinking, the one that works in more moments than you expected.
“It makes deciding what to wear in the morning very easy - I absolutely love them.”
