Our town is making jeans again.
SHOP HERITAGEWhere and Why?
Hiut is a family-owned company handcrafting jeans in its factory in Cardigan, Wales.
A town with a passionate denim heritage, in the 1960’s Cardigan’s first jeans factory employed over 400 artisans, crafting 35,000 pairs a week. When production moved offshore in 2002, that knowledge and skill was left behind.
Hiut was founded in 2011 to bring those skills back home, not to make the most jeans, but the best. Our mission was to train a new generation of craftspeople, and ensure this way of working, rooted in careful production, endured.
Inspiring a Beautiful Everyday Life Through Craftsmanship.

Today, Hiut continues to express this mission and the spirit of its name: High-end Utility.
A design philosophy, Hiut garments are a labour of contrast — passionately handcrafted and refined to the smallest details, yet designed to be worn with ease.
It is through this dynamic that we embody our mission of inspiring a beautiful everyday life through craftsmanship, because the way we make things shapes the kind of world we live in.
Our Craftsmanship.

Our Craftsmanship.
Every pair of Hiuts begins with carefully chosen fabrics and is made in-house under the guidance of makers who have spent decades of experience perfecting their craft.
Our methods mean it takes hours of skilled work to complete a single pair, naturally limiting our output, preventing overproduction, and reducing waste. Each garment is designed to be worn for years as we make not to trend, but to last.
The GrandMasters.

At the heart of Hiut are our craftspeople.
Our most senior are Grand Masters, artisans who have refined their skills over a lifetime of making and are responsible for training the next generation, setting the standard for everything we make.
