-A First for Us.
-This is our first time working with Kowa Mill in Japan.
Founded back in 1894. A history of weaving.
A reputation for pushing yarn further.
We’ve admired them for years.
And now we’ve finally made a jean together.
-The Fabric
-A double black selvedge.
Warp yarns dyed black. Weft yarns dyed black.
Woven on shuttle looms.
Finished with a red selvedge ID.
At 13 oz, it’s a weight you can wear all year.
Rugged in appearance. Stealthy in its fade - from black to graphite, to charcoal.
-The Yarn.
-This is where it gets interesting...It’s called Super Zero®.
Originally developed for towels.
Twist cotton with a water-soluble partner. Heat set it. Then wash that partner away. What’s left is a cotton yarn filled with air.
Soft. Absorbent. Quick drying. Cooler in summer. Warmer in winter. Even a touch of stretch - without elastane.
-Living With Them.
-Most double blacks start stiff.
This one doesn’t.
Super Zero® makes it soft from day one. And softer with every wash.
Each time you wear them, the yarn blooms.
They fade subtle.
Stealth fades.
Grey on the ridges.
Charcoal through the creases.
A jean that keeps on giving, the longer it’s yours.
